Issam has over 20 years of mixed experience in the telecom sector, both in operational positions with equipment manufacturers and operators and in strategy and organization consulting.

Within CMI, he is co-responsible for the development of the firm’s activity in the telecom sector. He assists players in the sector in defining their strategy and in their transformation projects. He is particularly involved in large infrastructure projects for which he brings his technical and economic expertise, in the development of new activities or new services and in operational excellence projects.

Issam is a Supélec engineer, certified in Black Belt Six Sigma from Centrale Paris and in Design Thinking from Strate Ecole de Design.

Philippe BASSOT

Phillipe is in charge of the Public Strategy expertise at CMI. He advises public actors in the definition of intervention plans enhancing territories and companies’ competitivity. He has gained significant experience in the definition and construction of structuring projects entailing public-private partnerships. He is also working on the evaluation of public policies’ performance in the fields of economic development, innovation, research and higher education.

Philippe is a graduate of Institut Supérieur de Gestion de Paris (multinational cycle).

Guillaume CANU

Guillaume is in charge of CMI’s development in the Telecom, Energy and Environment sectors. He also coordinates the development of the firm’s Energy and Environmental Transition and Sustainable Finance (ESG / impact) offerings.

A graduate of Telecom ParisTech and an expert in the telecommunications and infrastructure sector, he accompanies discussions on changes in business models and designs and pilots transformation approaches to implement them. His career path has been built around the changes introduced by digital technology in the 2000s, and more recently around the challenges of energy and environmental transition.


In charge of the “Infrastructure and Network Services” practice, Pierre is involved in the management of high-stakes international projects and the improvement of operational performance. He works on marketing and strategic framing issues, the design and launch of innovative offers or the creation of new activities. Many of his opportunity or transformation study missions have taken place in environments or ecosystems that are being structured, often internationally (UK, Germany, Slovakia, Morocco, Tunisia, Iran, Jordan…).

Pierre is a graduate of ESCP. Green Belt 6 Sigma, he is also trained in Agility and certified in Design Thinking and Design Fiction.

François FARHI

François Farhi is in charge of the Organization and transformation activity at CMI; he leads the Health expertise, one field of application of his activity. He is a specialist of organizational structure and operational performance issues. He advises his clients in the accomplishment and implementation of organizational diagnoses, in process optimization and organizational change management.

François has a Certificate of Further Education in Space and Environment Economics from Institut Universitaire d’Etude of Geneva and a Master in Economy Politics from Paris I University.

Matthieu GARREAU

Matthieu has over 20 years of experience in strategy, marketing and management consulting.

He works in various sectors (telecommunications, energy, public sector…) to support private and public players in opportunity or scoping studies (market studies, positioning analyses, economic and financial analyses, marketing positioning…), especially when they include a digital component.

Matthieu is a graduate of Télécom ParisTech.


Romain is developing the PE & Telecom, Media and Technology practices (including cyber, data, B2B services and infrastructure). He also co-leads the firm’s Digital & Data team.

Romain became a partner in July 2022. He has 10 years of experience in strategy consulting, including working with private equity funds, particularly in the tech sector.

Romain is a graduate of Ecole Centrale Paris.

Nicolas KANDEL

Nicolas is in charge of the corporate strategy expertise. He created the Private Equity activity at CMI. He advises his clients in building their strategic project, new offers’ launch or competitive strategies. Nicolas is also a specialist of Innovation Management : R&D strategy, technology plan building, innovation marketing. He is a senior lecturer at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées where he teaches about technology and innovation management.

Nicolas is a engineer graduate of AgroParisTech and holds a Certificate of Further Education of Industrial Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris.



Julie Koeltz graduated from Audencia Business School and Sorbonne University in International Economics. As an associate director at CMI, Julie Koeltz runs the consulting firm activities related to the fields of Higher Education and Research. She advises Ministries and research organizations, local authorities, innovation centers, universities, business and engineering schools, hospitals, technology parks… on the conception and evaluation of public policies, the strategic development and management of large-scale projects, the organization and governance of higher education, research and innovation. Her fields of expertise include research, valuation and transfer of technology, higher education, innovation and growth ecosystems at both local and national levels entailing public and private actors. Before joining CMI, Julie Koeltz worked for several years for the European Commission. She adviced institutions on the definition and evaluation of European policies and governance systems in the fields of Research and Innovation.


Marc is in charge of the Health industries expertise for CMI. He helps pharmaceutical and medical device companies in solving their issues related to Strategy or Innovation management. He also advises these actors in defining and implementing the transformation of their organizations or professions to successfully plan their future.  His experience in the health sector is cross-cutting: 3 years in fundamental research, 18 years in operational or leading position in pharmaceutical companies and 8 years of consulting for companies and institutions in the field.

Marc is a graduate of Ecole Centrale Paris and holds a PhD in Biochemistry.


Alain is leading the Food and Beverage sector at CMI. He helps his clients design their growth and innovation strategies. His consulting combines strategic thinking and operational pragmatism, from the design of strategies to the implementation of action plans, tailored to each client needs and specificities.

Alain has more than 30 years of experience in Senior Executive, General Management, Marketing and Sales positions in the Food, Beverage and Agribusiness sectors.

He has worked for multinational corporations and a French agricultural cooperative across various regions, countries, route-to-markets and business models, in both operational and functional positions.

He holds a PhD in Business Strategy from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises in Nice, France.
